The House Is Dry Walled

They have dry walled the house. Almost everything has been mudded and the ceilings have been coated. It is really starting to look like a house now. They are getting ready to build the deck on the back of the house.

The Exterior Is Almost Finished

When I left for Costa Rica all that was finished on the house was the foundation. I came back from Costa Rica and the house was completely framed and the roof was pitched. Now the house is almost bricked. They were even bricking the house today, on the fourth of July! More than likely they will slow down the process once the exterior is finished, since I won't move in until November/December. The picture posted was taken yesterday. Today the brick layers bricked the back of the house and both sides of the house. The front of the house is halfway bricked as well. Now that I can actually see a house, my excitement is building. :-) I will have to post a picture of the ducks that live at the pond down the street. They think they run the neighborhood. There are at least 50 ducks. Luckily, I live further down because they leave messes everywhere close to the pond.

I almost forgot to mention the exterior choices. I chose brown brick, beige vinyl, and maroon vinyl shutters/front door/exeterior trim.
Everything is coming together and I am very excited. This is the most important investment in myself I have ever made.

Designing the House

I picked out all of the flooring, tiles, hardware, cabinetry, and etc. for my house. It took 2 hours to pick every thing out. I am very happy with my choices. The should start building the house soon!!!

In the picture you see bathroom vanity color, cabinet color and style, bathroom vinyl flooring, master bedroom vinyl flooring, kitchen and entry way vinyl choices. The swatches up top are wall colors. The interior of the house will be painted Sweet Rice and Master Bedroom/Bathroom will be painted Green Silk.

I have found a lot...

I have found a lot for my first house. I am going to build a bi-level. The house will have four bedrooms and three full baths. I believe that I am about to be broke, my dad calls it being "house po." Either way, I am making a huge financial commitment. I want to use this blog to document my experience in the wonderful world of real estate.
